There are moments when I look up at my MacBook browser window and nothing but see tabs, tabs and more tabs. So many tabs open that when I use the Firefox tab-navigation arrows I get lost. Tabs with blog notes, tabs for ebay auctions lost, Etsy searches found and various blogs, both lovely and geeky, that i’ve run across, bookmarked and then just not wanted to leave! Oh, the places my fingers have taken me, the people i’ve seen (and the auctions i’ve won!). They serve as a, somewhat overwhelming, reminder of my accomplishments since I last cleared my tabs. I feel accomplished today and tonight I will clear my tabs, start anew and give thanks to modern day innovations in typing.

Deth P Sun’s 3ftx3ft historical map of SF, including the little defining nooks of the city that a Bay Area resident could know. The piece was created for the SF Arts Commission show that ran last year, but is currently being shown at the JANM here in LA through January 2010 (it was one of my favorites for obvious sentimental reasons). You could also just go ahead and snatch it up on the Giant Robot store for a mere $4K.

Check out Deth’s own description of the work and it’s evolution here. One of Mochi’s fav artists, Im glad I got to see this one while it was local.

Kaiseki (懐石) or kaiseki ryōri is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner. The term also refers to the collection of skills and techniques that allow the preparation of such meals, and are analogous to Western haute cuisine.

Tucked away on a residential street behind the Kyoto University of Art and Design, you’ll find the most amazing spot in Kyoto for Kaiseki: AWOMB. This was one of the most memorable culinary journeys Mochi and I have ever had. The owners and chef are true artists that have created an amazing space that is both refined and inviting (not to mention they are an incredibly sweet couple) A must for any trip to Kyoto for an true Kaiseki experience.

Hashtags in advertising! Google’s new Chrome ads feature the #google hashtag, and Land Rover receives a seemingly positive response for including it’s sponsored #LRNY hashtag to generate buzz around its vehicle release at the NY auto show.

It will be interesting to see how agencies try to tackle this and manage client’s sponsored hashtags with campaign driven budgets. Managing a presence on these platforms is a full-time job. Maybe that’s why I can’t seem to access content for #LRNY anymore?

The night before Thanksgiving was spent celebrating my hubby’s birthday at one of the most amazing and respectable restaurants I’ve ever visited. Thanks to Alice Waters, whose culinary philosophy centers on cooking with only the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients which are produced sustainably and locally. Chez Panisse is a lovely reminder of how one person can influence many and truly make a difference. Its a journey that should not be missed, if you have the opportunity to dine there and possibly tour the kitchen as well. Make sure to call up to a month in advance for reservations for the pre-set restaurant meal downstairs, you’ll be happy you did!

3.8 million Lexus & Toyota vehicles will be recalled because of a problem with the gas pedal catching on the floor mat. I actually had this happen with my 2006 Mini, now I need to keep an eye out again and practice shifting into neutral.
